Initially this page is going to look a bit different than other campground pages. That's because I'm revising the way I handle these things. Previously, each campground has been given its own page. I'm now going to collect all campgrounds along a given road onto one page. This should make it easier for you to look at everything that is available in the general area. Eventually I'll go back through and rework all the existing campground pages to do the same.
This page includes motorcycle-accessible campgrounds along CO 149 coming down from Slumgullion and Spring Creek Passes to South Fork. Silver Thread Campground is near South Clear Creek Falls as you come down Spring Creek Pass. Marshall Park Campground is near Creede. There is another campground east of CreedePalisade Campgroundthat I passed but did not check out as it was getting too dark. I'll try to check that out next time I'm out that way.
Silver
Thread Campground may have been called something else at one point. I don't find
it in my old campgrounds book but it was certainly there as we rode CO 149 in
July of 2008. This campground is very near South Clear Creek Falls and has a good
gravel road throughout.
There are 11 campsites, all of which offer tables and fire pits. There is water available and vault toilets.
The one night fee is $14.
Marshall
Park Campground is a little west of Creede along CO 149, right alongside the river.
Amenities include tables, fire rings, and vault toilets.
The campground is about .4 mile off the main highway on good gravel. There are 15 sites and the fee is $16 per night.
