Trail Ridge Road, along US 34, is the highest through road in the United
States. It runs from the town of Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park on
the east over to Grand Lake and then Granby on the west. With eight miles of the
road above 11,000 feet, Trail Ridge Road is closed from October through May, approximately,
covered under more than 10 feet of snow. Trail Ridge Road is the ultimate in Colorado
passes and is a must for any motorcyclists coming here to ride.
Campgrounds are available inside the park on both sides of the pass and outside the park on the west side. Other accomodations are plentiful in Estes Park and Grand Lake.
